Job summary

HF Sinclair is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage refinery capital projects from FEL through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover. You will lead multiple projects, develop scopes, facilitate reviews, and coordinate with operations, engineering and procurement to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires strong engineering knowledge, field supervision capability and a focus on safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
• 5–10 years in project management for owner organizations in FEL staged gate processes.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage 7 to 10 projects with competing priorities across refinery processes.
• Develop project scopes with operations, disciplines and business reps.
• Facilitate project meetings to define scope and drawings.
• Oversee execution with on-site staff or contractors.
• Coordinate technical assurance activities and equipment specs.
• Develop cost estimates and schedules for each phase and funding.
• Ensure projects meet cost and schedule targets; manage budgets.
• Support procurement strategy and bid evaluation; ensure delivery of equipment.
