Job description

These positions are assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); WPNSTA Yorktown/Cheatham Annex. Incumbent provides lifeguard duties; is responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons at the assigned work area; assists with aquatic training, education, and general support at the installation.

Duties

Responsibilities include lifeguarding, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and supporting aquatic activities.

Requirements

• Must pass all applicable records and background checks.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
• Current, active CPR, Lifeguard, and First Aid certifications are required.
• Salary must be sent via Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer to a financial institution of your choice.

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures, if applicable.
• Ability to conduct pool chemical testing, document results, and adjust chemical balances as directed.
• Skill in providing training and conducting safety inspections.
• Proficiency in surf lifesaving techniques and radio communications for rescue operations.
• Ability to identify hazards and patrons' needs promptly.
• Decisiveness and immediate action in situations risking patron safety.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
