Job summary

The Charlotte Area Transit System is seeking a Lead Rail Controller to serve as the on-floor leader in the Rail Control Center. You will supervise Controllers and Control Room Assistants, coordinate shift activities, and ensure real-time rail operations run safely and efficiently.

You will monitor service conditions, triage incidents, and support service recovery, while upholding operating rules and quality controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of rail control/dispatch experience.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends.
• Experience applying operating rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Rail Control Center shift and coordinate staff.
• Monitor real-time rail service and priorities for train movements.
• Respond to incidents and support service recovery.
• Ensure compliance with rules and complete required logs/reports.
