Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a Senior Radiation Protection Technologist to oversee contamination and radiation exposure control. The role includes performing or directing surveys in lab spaces, training others, and ensuring compliance with procedures and safety standards.

The candidate will conduct routine radiological surveillances, support work with radioactive materials, and respond to emergencies, while mentoring other laboratory staff and adhering to Radiation

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of health physics or radiation protection employment.
• AS degree in Nuclear Technology or equivalent, or Navy ELT experience.
• Mathematics, physics, chemistry, and science fundamentals.
• Ability to communicate verbal instructions to others.

Responsibilities

• Provide contamination and radiation exposure control.
• Perform or direct surveys where procedures are undeveloped or conditions are unusual.
• Mentor laboratory personnel working with radioactive materials.
• Perform routine radiological surveillances in lab spaces and with radioactive materials.
• Respond to emergency situations and follow Radiation Work Permits.
