Job summary

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of radiation safety and measurement concepts.
DOE-qualified radiation control technician status.
Two years of technical college or equivalent education/experience.
Ability to work independently with general directions.
Ability to meet physical requirements and respirator qualifications.

Responsibilities

Perform radiological surveys (radiation, contamination, airborne) and generate reports and audits.
Conduct routine radiological surveys of labs, construction sites, and remediation areas.
Perform release surveys of materials/equipment from radiologically controlled areas.
Post/label controlled areas and respond to radiological incidents under supervision.
Provide advanced radiological support during packaging and shipment of radioactive materials.
