Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Senior Medical Coding Educator to join Texas Oncology in Richardson, TX. This full-time role focuses on Radiation Oncology coding, documentation, billing, and reimbursement education for physicians, APPs, coders, and clinical staff.

The educator develops tools, leads sessions, and responds to coding trends, payer changes, and audit findings, while collaborating with Revenue Cycle, Audit Operations, and clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of professional fee coding, coding education, coding audit, medical records, reimbursement, or related experience.
• Minimum of three years of direct professional fee Radiation Oncology experience.
• Experience educating physicians, APPs, coders, clinical staff, or business office staff.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, payer requirements, and documentation.
• Experience creating presentations, written education, coding tools, and provider feedback.
• Project coordination experience and the ability to manage multiple education requests, deadlines, and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provides coding, documentation, billing, and reimbursement education with primary responsibility for Radiation Oncology and additional support for Evaluation and Management and multispecialty services.
• Researches, prepares, develops, and delivers education to physicians, APPs, clinical teams, coders, business office staff, and operational leaders through sessions, meetings, webinars, and guidance.
• Conducts ongoing medical record reviews to identify education needs across providers and practices.
• Develops Radiation Oncology education covering planning, simulation, dosimetry, treatment delivery, image guidance, and payer requirements.
• Provides professional fee Education on code selection, time-based services, medical decision making, and documentation.
