Job summary

RTX seeks a Principal Radar/RF-focused Electrical Subsystems Engineer for the Advanced Effector Guidance Systems department in Tucson, AZ. You will drive RF subsystem design, requirements, and testing for radar seekers and related components, collaborating with program leadership and suppliers.

Role requires a DoD Secret clearance, strong RF engineering skills, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of related experience.
  • Experience with electrical hardware development and RF subsystems.
  • Experience in requirements development and validation.
  • RF modeling experience in HFSS and/or CST.
  • Knowledge of high-power-density RF architectures and thermal/electrical trade-space management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and architect radar and RF subsystem solutions, including front-end RF chains and antennas.
  • Perform modeling and simulation of RF/radar subsystem performance.
  • Evaluate hardware designs for radar seekers and RF systems.
  • Generate subsystem-level requirements, interfaces, test plans and verification artifacts.
  • Conduct technical peer reviews and act as SME for radar/RF topics.
  • Support lab testing, field tests, and root-cause analysis.
