Job summary
Crossley Scott seeks a Lead Engineer in its R&D organization to design, develop, and test advanced DER and power distribution systems. You will shape roadmaps, benchmark technologies, and ensure performance, cost, and specifications meet market needs.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead prototypes and verification activities, and communicate results to stakeholders, while partnering with suppliers to drive innovation in energy storage, microgrid, and data center
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical)
- Advanced degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical) or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in system design, architecture, testing, or integration of energy technologies for microgrid, power generation, and energy storage
Responsibilities
- Characterizes, benchmarks, and defines requirements for design, development of proof-of-concept prototypes, and testing of various components and technologies.
- Characterizes size, performance, efficiency, cost, and requirements for DER and power distribution components for microgrid, EV charging, and data center applications.
- Develops and maintains documentation on component specifications, selection analysis, requirements, and simulation analysis.
- Works with systems simulation and FEA/CFD engineers to set targets for modeling and simulation.
- Leads evaluation and benchmarking of new and competitive technologies.
- Collaborates with controls software engineers on energy management systems and microgrid controllers.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams on power electronics, thermal management, and packaging/manufacturing design.
- Collaborates with Verification & Validation team to define DVP&Rs for battery energy storage system testing.
- Performs other related duties as required.
