Job summary

Afton Chemical Corporation is a global leader in lubricant and fuel additives, seeking a technical leader for complex HDD R&D programs. You will guide project teams, drive data-driven decisions, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced research environment.

You will develop roadmaps, evaluate testing data, and prepare technical reports and presentations for R&D leadership, while coordinating with engineering and external partners to deliver robust HDD solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant R&D experience in a lab-based environment.
• PhD preferred for advanced roles in chemistry or chemical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the technology roadmap supporting HDD product development.
• Identify emerging technologies and research opportunities for HDD performance and emissions.
• Collaborate with development teams to define and execute roadmap initiatives.
• Lead multiple concurrent research projects from concept to completion with timelines and milestones.
• Evaluate bench and engine data and communicate findings to leadership.
