Job summary

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of lab experience.
• College graduate or equivalent.
• Associate or bachelor’s Degree in any scientific field.
• Demonstrated lab and/or chemistry training, experience or aptitude.
• For NewMarket or Afton employees, an appropriate combination of experiences may replace specific requirements.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety related activities and stay updated on procedures and regulations.
• Perform industry and Afton-specific lab tests using established procedures and assist in test development.
• Prepare reports and enter data to communicate results within timelines.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and instrumentations as required.
• Purchase and manage lab supplies and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Maintain ISO documentation and participate in related activities.
• Prepare lab batches of formulations and analyze blends and stocks as needed.
• May represent Afton with customers and train personnel as necessary.
