Job summary

Actalent in Greensboro, NC, is seeking a Quality Engineer to implement and maintain robust quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will lead QA activities, audits, CAPA, and process improvements to ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements, with emphasis on food or highly regulated environments.

The role collaborates with production teams to achieve first-time quality, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC tools,

Qualifications

• Must have food or highly regulated environment experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field.
• 35 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, TS16949, or similar standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain quality procedures and documentation for compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct internal audits and oversee CAPA processes to address nonconformances.
• Lead quality system improvements to ensure continuous compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
• Establish and maintain SPC systems for critical manufacturing processes to monitor and improve performance.
• Design and implement inspection plans, test procedures, and quality checkpoints throughout the production line.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues by performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production teams to achieve first-time quality and reduce defect rates.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma or similar frameworks.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction within manufacturing operations.
• Develop and implement improvement projects that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
