Job summary

Johns Manville, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Sr. Product Engineer to lead the PVC membrane platform in our Commercial Roofing division. You will coordinate with internal and external teams, drive formulation and testing programs, and help optimize performance across plants and field sites.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in PVC/formulation, strong data analysis, and proven leadership in multi-project environments. Travel 15–30% and a safety-focused culture are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in plastics, polymer or rubber engineering/science or related polymer/material science field.
• Minimum 5 years in product testing, quality management or related STEM field.
• Direct PVC/Rubber formulation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead PVC membrane platform operations and sourcing as needed.
• Drive division goals, standardization and best-practice sharing across plants.
• Design and maintain PVC membrane formulations; support lab and scale-up.
• Provide plant support and troubleshoot process issues.
• Collaborate across operations, R&D, product engineering and supply chain.
• Maintain product-line documentation: specs, reports, QA.
• Monitor regulatory/standards bodies affecting products.
• Promote safety improvements and JM culture.
• Stay current on rubber/PVC tech via ASTM/ACS, etc.
• Lead multiple projects and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Spend time on roofs to understand field issues and opportunities.
• Generate ideas for new product initiatives and IP protection.
