Qualifications

• Must have a valid California driver license.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Able to work rotational shifts and on-call/overtime/holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communications.
• Knowledge of police dispatch procedures and radio systems.
• Knowledge of CAD and records systems.
• Proficient IT skills and software applications.
• Able to pass medical/psychological exams and background check.
• Pass POST Entry-level Dispatcher test prior to academy.

Responsibilities

• Process 911 calls for police, fire, medical and non-emergency services.
• Input data into CAD and law enforcement systems; monitor radio traffic.
• Operate multi-channel radio under emergency and non-emergency conditions.
• Maintain logs and process alarms; support operational improvements.
