Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Nashville, TN seeks a Lead Protection Engineer to perform relay settings and coordination studies with technical autonomy, directing work of others on projects. This role leads event analysis and serves as the primary technical resource within projects, proactively flagging schedule risks to the PAC Engineering Manager.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in power system studies and protection, and is capable of leading engineers while delivering consulting services

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program or 20+ years related experience.
7–10 years experience with protection devices and power systems.
Experience with study software (CAPE, CYME, ETAP, ASPEN, Synergy) and fault analysis.
Ability to lead a team of protection engineers and manage project documentation.

Responsibilities

Provide relay settings, event analysis, system studies, and PAC engineering services for utilities.
Lead projects and supervise subordinate engineers; communicate proactively on schedules.
Develop and provide estimates for client proposals.
Review drawings and contribute to protection and control design as needed.
Maintain strong customer relationships and coordinate resources for projects.
