Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering seeks a Senior Engineer to lead electrical design, relay settings, and system studies for utility, industrial, and federal power systems. You will direct testing, commissioning, and protection & control integration while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with customers.

Ideal candidates bring 6–15+ years experience, strong communication and project leadership, and proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) preferred.
• 6–15+ years engineering experience including protection & control.
• Experience leading engineering teams, client-facing technical efforts.
• Experience with relay settings and protection device calculations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering design, testing, commissioning and technical consulting.
• Lead Protection & Control design packages and relay settings development.
• Perform relay coordination, short-circuit, load-flow, arc-flash studies.
• Review specifications and redline design packages for clients.
• Mentor junior engineers, designers and commissioning personnel.
• Interface with customers to manage schedules and budgets.
