Accelera is seeking a Lead Protection and Control Engineer to join the regional Projects and Services team in North America. You will deliver expert protection and control engineering across industrial, transmission, and distribution sectors in the US and Canada, covering full lifecycle from design to commissioning of specialized applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on power systems.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement protection solutions for utilities and industrial clients to ensure reliable power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Develop microgrid dispatching algorithms and improve power flow efficiency.
• Conduct arc-flash, load flow, short circuit, ground grid, insulation coordination, and protective device coordination studies.
• Develop relay setting files and configure protection logic for hardware.
• Validate protection systems through testing at facilities and client sites.
• Model power systems using RTDS or similar platforms.
• Prepare factory acceptance test documentation and witness testing.
• Lead site acceptance testing and provide field support for commissioning.
• Improve workflows by developing automated tools for utility partners.
• Participate in technical project meetings with customers and project managers.
