Job summary

AAA Auto Club Enterprises is seeking an experienced claims professional to support the Property Claims operation for homeowner policies. You will interpret First Notice of Loss, investigate, evaluate coverage and damages, and negotiate to resolve complex claims while complying with state and federal laws.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with internal/external counsel when needed, and prepare detailed reports for senior management. Travel will be occasional as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience required.
• 7-9 years in claims handling required.
• 7-9 years property claims administration preferred.
• Strong knowledge of claims practices and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance concepts, coverage and subrogation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims systems.
• Understanding building and vehicle repair procedures.
• Strong leadership, organization and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and liability insurance required.
• CPCU or AIC designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify statements from insureds and witnesses; assess coverage and damages.
• Explain coverages and claims process to various parties per regulations.
• Negotiate within settlement authority to resolve first-party claims.
• Mentor and train junior staff in Claims development guidelines.
• Attend legal proceedings; coordinate with in-house/outside counsel.
• Prepare formal reporting on high-profile claims for senior management.
• Respond quickly to customer needs and problems.
