Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Safety Professional to join our Richmond-area projects. You will help create project safety plans, track safety performance, and enforce safety programs on site to protect workers and ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include leading safety meetings, coordinating training, conducting inspections, and supporting OSHA inspections. Strong communication and a proactive, organized approach are essential; OSHA 30 is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the creation of the project safety plan.
• Track and trend project safety performance and recommend corrective measures.
• Verify project team adherence to safety management processes.
• Draft letters, issue safety violations, and meet with managers.
• Facilitate project safety committees.
• Lead preconstruction safety meetings and pre-task planning.
• Conduct or facilitate project-wide safety training.
• Support regulatory safety compliance and audits.
• Coordinate site safety activities with the Project Manager.
• Encourage safety improvements through innovative thinking.
