Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Florida seeks a Project Engineer (P.E.) to lead design and execution on water distribution and wastewater projects. You will own technical deliverables from concept through final design, ensuring accuracy, constructability and regulatory compliance, while mentoring staff and coordinating across disciplines.

Responsibilities include reviewing calculations, preparing reports, and coordinating with clients and agencies to balance quality, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical work and mentor others.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce complete engineering designs, including plans, specifications, reports, calculations, and estimates per codes and project requirements.
• Evaluate design alternatives and select solutions balancing quality, constructability, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate work with project managers, subconsultants, and external stakeholders.
• Review and oversee work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare and review technical reports, studies, and documentation using standard tools.
• Support delivery by identifying risks and contributing to schedule and budget adherence.
