Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Project Manager Engineer to lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts on Air Insulated and Gas Insulated Substation projects—from concept to commissioning, ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and seamless execution.

You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and partners, defining tasks, schedules, and quality metrics while driving risk assessment and process improvements for safer, more reliable power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of experience in power systems or grid integration.
• Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain.
• Deep knowledge of National Electric Code and ANSI/IEEE standards.
• Experience with Transmission High-Voltage substations and FACTS technologies.
• Background in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects.
• Authorized to work in the United States for Hitachi Energy.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities across AIS and GIS substations from concept to commissioning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
• Support proposal efforts with cost-effective solutions.
• Define project tasks, schedules and quality metrics.
• Evaluate risks and opportunities to optimize outcomes.
• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
• Act as the primary technical interface for stakeholders.
• Drive continuous process improvements and ensure compliance with regulations.
