Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Lead Engineer in the Raleigh area to lead multi-disciplinary engineering efforts on grid integration and FACTS projects. You will coordinate across electrical, mechanical, and controls disciplines, owning the engineering scope from proposal through design, construction, commissioning, and project completion.

You will drive execution to meet schedules, budgets, and safety requirements while collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required or implied.
• 6+ years in engineering, project engineering, PM, or related leadership.
• Experience with transmission-level HV systems (69kV+) is essential.
• Experience supporting large-scale EPC projects.
• Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards and NEC.
• PE license preferred; familiarity with FACTS technologies (STATCOM, SVC, Series Capacitors) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across electrical, mechanical, controls, studies, and related disciplines.
• Own and manage the complete engineering scope throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Drive engineering execution to meet schedules, budgets, quality, and safety standards.
• Support proposal development with innovative, cost-effective technical solutions.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities to support growth.
• Provide technical leadership during installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across teams.
