Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Waco, TX seeks a Lead Project Engineer to oversee complex system integration on airborne platforms. You’ll lead a cross-functional team, manage plans, baselines, and budgets, and interface with customers and leadership throughout the program lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include leading design reviews, resolving engineering issues, and driving bid/proposal efforts while ensuring compliance with schedules, costs, and performance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 9+ years of related experience.
• Graduate Degree with 7+ years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of related experience.
• Experience in program planning, guidance, and engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Experience in Bid and Proposal development and one of the following disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership to a cross-functional team to resolve design and integration challenges.
• Serve as primary technical focal point for assigned programs and ensure alignment with requirements.
• Develop and manage project plans, baselines, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, analyses, test plans, interface documents, and design changes.
• Drive resolution of complex engineering issues and corrective actions.
• Lead design reviews and milestone reviews with stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
• Track program status and brief senior leadership on performance metrics.
• Track cost and schedule execution and explain variances and recovery paths.
• Lead bid/proposal activities and Technical Volume responses to ROMs, RFIs, and RFPs.
• Ensure program execution adheres to engineering processes and policies and safety standards.
