Job summary

Vogt Power International Inc. in Louisville, KY seeks a Lead Project Designer to guide CAD efforts for HRSG and related equipment during sales and construction.

You will develop 3D models, reviews P&IDs, and coordinate with engineering and project teams to define scope and deliverables. The role requires 10+ years of CAD design in industrial environments, advanced Autodesk skills (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Revit, Inventor), and travel to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Ten (10)+ years of CAD design experience in industrial, power generation, boiler, or similar environments.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk software including AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Revit, and Inventor.
• Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, drawings, P&IDs, BOMs, MTOs, specs, and design standards.
• Proven ability to lead design efforts, coordinate work, and mentor CAD personnel.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Vendors, and Customers.
• Willingness to travel periodically to customer sites and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop project control drawings (model) and data using engineering data sheets.
• Review P&IDs for adherence to contract and Vogt standards.
• Review customer specifications to ensure compliance.
• Develop work assignments for CAD staff to meet schedule.
• Prepare 3D models and CAD drawings for major equipment.
• Assist CAD designers in developing project drawings.
• Prepare and issue MTOs or requisitions for materials.
• Provide input to vendor RFIs, SDRs, NCRs.
• Support project engineers for shop and field issues.
• Travel to jobsite(s) for short field assignments.
• Attend site meetings as needed.
• Maintain design standards and schedules.
