Job summary

VoltaGrid in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Mechanical Designer to create, organize, and disseminate mechanical designs for power generation and natural gas solutions. You will work with the Engineering team, performing hands-on drafting and documentation.

The role requires 10+ years drafting experience in mechanical systems, proficiency in AutoCAD (SolidWorks Electrical/Mechanical), and ability to collaborate across project teams while maintaining regulatory compliance and quality records.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in drafting with mechanical systems.
5+ years of industry-related experience or an associate degree in a technical field.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 3D designs for complex assets using Inventor/AutoCAD.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop schematics.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Perform quality checks on schematics to ensure accuracy.
Maintain organized records of schematics and related documentation.
Continuously improve drafting skills and CAD software knowledge.
Assist with equipment drawings, installation and testing.
Collaborate with engineers to develop accurate technical specifications and RFQ responses.
