Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Project Design Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and costing of large-scale critical power construction projects. The role requires collaboration with clients, engineers, architects, and vendors to ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions.

You will guide estimators and sales teams in pricing, perform reliability and system calculations, and support project managers through construction to meet schedule and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or similar technical field from an accredited university.
• Experience in critical power including protected DC power and AC power systems.
• Understanding of cooling systems, control systems, AC switch gear, and generator systems.
• Experience in project management and operations culture.
• Understanding of financial statements, budgets and engineering economic calculations.
• Ability to create, document, and present design concepts to customers and operations.
• Experience working with professional engineers and architects.
• Familiarity with construction techniques and applying them to design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Quote and execute field projects within critical facilities environment including oversight and direction of design and estimation deliverables.
• Work with Manager, PMO to establish, track and update team KPI's.
• As the subject matter expert of critical facility infrastructure, coach team members in technical matters.
• Develop and refine tools and processes to improve team efficiency and accuracy.
• Work closely with internal/external customers to determine requirements and make cost-effective and innovative recommendations.
• Generate, read, interpret, and explain RFQ's, SOW's, drawings to guide the creation of solutions, estimates, and other documents within a timely manner.
• Support the Sales team in the identification and qualification of new market opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and project coordinators.
• Create overall strategies and plans to execute projects.
• Manage change control and implement approved changes.
• Assist in the delivery of close-out documentation to clients in a timely manner.
• Review financials with Sales and Operations management.
