Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, IT, accounting, finance, business/management or related degree is required.
  • Equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree will be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
  • Robust understanding of project management principles, processes, methodologies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of the utility energy delivery industry.
  • Knowledge of risk management, EVM, finance, and analytics.
  • Experience implementing systems and migrating/integrating data from several source systems.
  • Proficiency in Monte Carlo analysis, statistical modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of PMIS systems, scheduling techniques, and cost controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Project Controls Analysts and Specialists supporting risk management and EVM processes.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, processes, practices, tools, dashboards, reports, and systems for project risk and EVM management.
  • Develop, maintain, and report Key Project Indicators and other project performance metrics.
  • Facilitate project initiation, planning, execution, control, compliance, and close-out analyses.
  • Build and lead a diverse team; provide direction, coaching, performance evaluation, training, and development opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain risk management and EVM policies and procedures.
  • Review and update Project Risk Management and Earned Value Management Plans.
  • Coordinate PRM and EVM activities, including risk-register reviews, RRA reviews, project and portfolio performance, forensic analysis, and status reporting.
  • Maintain risk registers and ensure completeness of risk attributes and response plans.
  • Evaluate EVM performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement risk management and EVM tools; train and guide project teams and stakeholders.
  • Oversee quantitative risk analysis using EVM, Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, and probabilistic modeling.
  • Produce risk and EVM metrics; interpret CPI, SPI, and quantitative risk-analysis results.
  • Identify trends, emerging risks, and areas of concern and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor risk and EVM against the Transmission Capital Portfolio and execution readiness.
  • Perform deep-dive root-cause analysis of cost, schedule, and scope performance.
  • Prepare written reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Investment Planning, Operations, Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Estimating, and Project Performance teams.

Job description

Requirements

  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
  • Must be able to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and up to five days in the office if needed

  • Experience in Utility and Energy Delivery is preferred
  • Oracle Primavera P6 or OPC scheduling is preferred
  • Advanced degree is highly desirable
  • PMP certification is highly desirable
  • Risk Management Certification (RMP and ISO 31000) is highly desirable
  • Six Sigma is highly desirable
