Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Lead Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of construction job costing across multiple projects. You will supervise a team of project accountants, work with Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate accounting, and manage vendor compliance to mitigate risk.

The role emphasizes accuracy, internal controls, and the periodic preparation of reports while aligning with company policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or Construction Management.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of construction job costing including categorizing, recording, and monitoring costs and billings.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and maintain internal controls.
• Monitor financials, collect and evaluate data, and prepare standard and special reports.
• Advise on policy changes to improve compliance and efficiency; work with accounting manager on fiscal strategies.
• Coach and supervise junior project accountants.
