Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of construction job costing on a large project and several smaller ones. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

The role involves billing, cost analysis, vendor compliance, accounts payable, and reporting on profitability, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of project accounting experience preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of construction job costing for a large project and multiple smaller projects.
• Compile, prepare and analyze monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Perform financial analysis and reconciliation of project costs versus budget.
• Process project accounts payable and subcontracts payable.
• Manage vendor compliance, insurance, lien waivers, retention and W-9s.
• Produce and analyze job performance and profitability through cost tracking reports.
• Assist in status report preparation and maintain project budgets in COINs.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner.
