Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the entire production process, ensure safety and USDA standards, and coach a team of hourly workers. You will track yields, implement process improvements, and lead daily operations to meet targets with quality and efficiency.

The role emphasizes training, clear communication, and hands-on leadership to drive performance on the production floor and support overall plant goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 2+ years of relevant experience
• Experience leading training, coaching, or mentoring staff
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) for problem-solving and collaboration
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments; willing to work long hours/weekends when needed
• Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time

Responsibilities

• Oversee production on the floor to meet targets and quality standards
• Lead safety audits and ensure HACCP and USDA compliance
• Track yields, efficiencies, variances, and drive improvements
• Train, coach, and motivate hourly production employees
• Hold monthly line meetings and walk the floor daily to align on goals
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce costs and maximize production uptime
