Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead frontline operations on the plant floor. You will oversee the full production cycle, ensure safety, quality, and USDA standards, and coach a team of hourly employees to meet daily targets.

You will drive continuous improvement by tracking yields and efficiencies, conducting floor inspections, and coordinating with supervisors and managers. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate, and you may travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
• Experience leading/train­ing staff or managing a process or project.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) while guiding problem-solving for complex issues.
• Motivating, training, and coaching employees to peak performance in a positive environment.
• Adaptable to fast-paced environments; willing to work long hours and weekends when needed.
• Role may require up to 5% travel.

Responsibilities

• Safety and compliance: perform daily inspections, lead safety audits, ensure HACCP/USDA regulations.
• Product quality and training: enforce Food Safety plans, train on SOPs, ensure tasks meet specs.
• Operational efficiency: track yields, efficiencies, variances, and optimize workflows to reduce downtime and costs.
• Team leadership and communication: guide hourly employees, lead line meetings, and ensure alignment on safety, quality, and production goals.
• Continuous improvement: analyze metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive efficiency.
