Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the on-site production floor in Sioux Falls, SD. You will manage daily operations, ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, and lead a team of hourly employees through training and coaching.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Strong communication, problem solving, and adaptability are essential, with up to 5% travel and possible long hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to staff.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) for problem solving and team guidance.
• Ability to motivate, train, and coach employees to achieve peak performance.
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments; willingness to work long hours/weekends and travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production processes on the floor and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Lead daily operations to meet production targets and maintain efficiency.
• Train and develop hourly employees; conduct monthly line meetings.
• Coordinate maintenance and setup of equipment to maximize uptime.
• Communicate across levels to align on safety, quality, and production goals.
