Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services (OMS) is a leading steel and metal fabrication company with over 100 years of trusted performance. This role is a supervisory position over shop staff, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with company policies.

You will help build a strong team and drive results. Based in Houston, the shift runs 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a steel or manufacturing environment.
• Two or four-year college degree, or equivalent experience.
• Leadership experience required; Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• ISO 9001:2015 experience, preferred.
• Formal safety training (OSHA 30, NSC, etc.), preferred.
• Self-motivation, desire to succeed.
• Understanding of manufacturing methodologies, like Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills, judgement and decision making, developing group cooperation and teamwork, coping with difficulties and emergencies, high degree of organization skills.
• Speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop employees: plan schedules, conduct reviews, provide feedback, and manage timesheets.
• Enforce safety procedures and PPE; train personnel and report violations.
• Audit quality procedures; assist Quality team with inspections and error prevention.
• Interview and train new and existing employees for development and cross-training.
• Coordinate with Planning/Scheduling to set machine schedules and meet delivery dates.
• Maintain Epicor/MES usage and monitor job progress; drive continuous improvement.
