Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Second Shift in Houston, TX. You will oversee shop personnel, plan schedules, manage performance reviews, and ensure safety and quality compliance daily.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, leadership experience, and knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma. We offer strong benefits and opportunities to grow within a long-standing family-owned company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a steel or manufacturing environment.
• Two or four-year college degree, or equivalent experience.
• Leadership experience required; Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• ISO 9001:2015 experience, preferred.
• Formal safety training (OSHA 30, NSC, etc.), preferred.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, preferred.
• Speak conversational English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop employees; plan work schedules, conduct performance reviews, provide guidance, administer discipline, develop productivity strategies, and manage timesheets.
• Enforce safety procedures and guidelines (JSA, PPE); ensure training and tools are provided; report violations.
• Audit operator inspections; assist Quality team in preventing errors.
• Interview and train new and existing employees; develop cross-training.
• Coordinate with Planning/Scheduling to set daily machine schedules and supervise workflow to meet quality and delivery goals.
• Drive continuous improvement using manufacturing methodologies.
• Support preventive maintenance with the Maintenance Department.
• Administer employee policies and monitor department performance.
• Assist in resolving internal and external customer problems/complaints.
• Promote high morale and teamwork; ensure high retention.
