Job summary

Humana’s Digital Health Platform seeks a Lead Product Engineer to set the technical direction and ship production code weekly. You’ll own architecture, drive AI tooling, and partner with product teams to align roadmaps with measurable outcomes.

This remote, 40-hour role involves influencing engineers without direct reports, setting coding standards, and helping multiple Humana teams adopt the shared AI coding practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience including 5+ years of full-stack web development.
• 2+ years each with React, Node.js, and GraphQL.
• 2+ years leading technical direction and establishing a practice or tool.
• 1+ years hands-on experience building AI coding tooling (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)

Responsibilities

• Set the architecture and technical direction for platform products.
• Deliver hands-on production code across UIs, GraphQL APIs, and microservices.
• Collaborate with Product Owner on priorities and run discovery, spikes, and prototypes.
• Define how team measures impact and inform roadmaps.
• Set standards for test-driven development, accessibility, performance, and security.
• Grow adoption of the practice across teams and contribute to hiring.
