Job summary

Humana is seeking a Lead Product Engineer for the Digital Health Platform (DHP) to set technical direction and deliver production code weekly. You will own the approach to platform products, influence across product teams, and drive AI coding tooling strategy.

You will lead with hands-on coding across UIs, GraphQL APIs, and Node.js microservices, shaping discovery and prototyping, while growing the engineering capabilities and standards across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of full-stack web development.
• 2+ years leading technical direction, establishing a practice, standard, or tool.
• 2+ years owning product direction, shaping a roadmap and tying work to measured results.
• 1+ years hands-on AI tooling experience (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor).

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for team architecture and approach.
• Deliver hands-on production code across UIs, GraphQL APIs, and Node.js services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities and run discovery and prototyping.
• Define and track product outcomes and impact for roadmap decisions.
• Set standards for test-driven development, accessibility, and secure AI code review.
• Lead the practice and grow adoption across multiple teams.
• Assist in interviewing and onboarding new engineers.
