Job summary

Mark43 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own a critical area of our product portfolio. You will partner with Product and Engineering to shape what problems we solve and how we solve them for first responders across dispatch, records, analytics, and mobile apps.

You will guide design direction, lead complex initiatives, and mentor teams while advocating for user-centric, craft-focused solutions in a fast-moving, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional product design experience with ownership and impact on shipped software products
• 5+ years of designing complex enterprise SaaS products or sophisticated systems and workflows
• Track record of leading design for a substantial product area from early discovery through shipped outcomes
• Strong product judgment and ability to balance customer needs, strategy, interaction design, and execution
• Deep experience with qualitative and quantitative research to inform product decisions
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering leaders and influencing decisions
• Excellent interaction and visual design skills with a high bar for craftsmanship
• Ability to communicate complex design decisions clearly to customers and senior leadership
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity and changing directions

Responsibilities

• Set design direction for a critical product area and create a clear vision for the evolving experience
• Lead complex initiatives from discovery through delivery with research, insights, and cross-functional collaboration
• Make tradeoffs balancing user needs, technical constraints, business priorities, and long-term strategy
• Work directly with first responders and public safety agencies to translate high-stakes workflows into reliable experiences
• Design across environments and devices, from dispatch workstations to mobile applications
• Raise design quality beyond individual work and contribute to design system and patterns
• Present product vision and design recommendations to customers and senior leaders
• Explore how AI and emerging technologies can improve public safety workflows responsibly
• Refine interactions and collaborate with Engineering to turn concepts into shipped products
