Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a capable Retail Department Lead for our Zeeland, MI location. You will direct daily department operations, ensure staffing, training, and adherence to company standards, and drive performance against KPIs.

You will manage inventory, verify orders, and coordinate with store management to deliver a high-quality guest experience. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in the absence of the department manager.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Validate received orders for amount, quality, count, and condition.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and related tasks.
• Ensure familiarity with all products and store features, including ads and coupons.
• Communicate and implement weekly Flight Plans and company timelines.
• Assist with scheduling, labor control, and payroll for the department.
• Uphold PPE, safety, food safety, and guest experience guidelines.
• Support department manager in staffing, training, and performance development.
• Participate in daily huddles and company meetings.
