Job summary

Westlake is seeking a Process Engineer to drive plant output optimization, reduce downtime and scrap, and improve process control and material usage. You will lead manufacturing programs, develop procedures, and support capital projects as a key member of the plant leadership team.

You will analyze data to drive decisions, reduce process variation, and participate in improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and DOEs.

Qualifications

• BS engineering degree plus 3–10 years manufacturing experience.
• Experience in high-volume, continuous manufacturing.
• PVC processing and extrusion experience highly desired.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to commute to Greensboro, GA onsite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct technical activities to solve problems in the facility.
• Develop & maintain process guidelines (SOP/SOC) and training programs.
• Analyze scrap, downtime, line rates, and material usage; prepare charts/reports.
• Reduce process variation to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives through material, product, and process improvements.
• Utilize CI tools (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, DoEs) to drive improvements.
• Develop work cell layouts to optimize material flow and 5S/visual management.
