Job summary

Swoop is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Lead Privacy and Product Counsel in the United States to navigate complex U.S. privacy laws, advertising technology, data licensing, and product sales agreements.

This role reports to the General Counsel & Chief Privacy Officer and supports cross-functional teams across marketing, product, and sales. You will shape privacy program strategy, manage risk, and build scalable legal processes to enable innovative solutions in healthcare engagement.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and a license to practice in at least one state.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
• Experience with U.S. state and federal privacy laws, SaaS product licensing, third-party data licensing, and product sales agreements.
• Conversational acumen across marketing, finance, and analytics/data science.
• HIPAA/HITECH experience preferred.
• Experience with global data and privacy matters is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on commercial legal matters with a focus on ad tech integration, third-party data licensing and sales, technology products and services, digital media, and privacy matters.
• Draft and negotiate complex client and vendor commercial agreements (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, IOs, licensing agreements).
• Lead negotiations with data/technology providers and major platforms in the ad tech ecosystem.
• Coordinate with lead counsel and internal teams to align legal goals with business objectives.
• Develop and implement privacy workflow processes and training for sales and product teams.
• Provide strategic guidance across marketing, finance, and analytics to mitigate legal risk.
• Handle project-based work within the legal department as needed.
