Job summary

Protege seeks an experienced attorney to lead day-to-day legal work, partnering with the CLO on commercial contracts, privacy strategy, and cross-border data transfers. The role blends negotiation, policy, and practical product risk in a fast-moving data-driven environment.

You will own data license negotiations, HIPAA/CCPA compliance, and the design of scalable legal processes, working closely with engineering, partnerships, and business teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant legal experience with depth in technology transactions and privacy (healthcare/HIPAA/GDPR/CCPA).
• JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Experience negotiating data licensing or technology/data transactions.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and close complex technology and data transactions across teams.
• Counsel on HIPAA, GDPR/CCPA, and privacy program management.
• Manage high-volume legal queue, triage matters, and coordinate with outside counsel.
