Job summary

Yellow Brick Road in Minnesota is seeking a Lead Educator to provide a nurturing, positive, and innovative learning environment where young children can thrive. You will plan curriculum, observe development, and collaborate with families to support each child’s growth.

You’ll maintain a safe classroom culture, use positive guidance, and participate in ongoing professional development while partnering with colleagues to deliver engaging, play-based experiences that reflect our values.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS qualifications for a Lead Teacher in a licensed child care center.
• Experience working with young children in a licensed setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 65 lbs.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans that reflect core values and state standards.
• Create a positive classroom culture that fosters belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Observe and assess each child's development to tailor instruction.
• Maintain accurate documentation of child progress.
• Establish and maintain a positive, respectful classroom culture with positive reinforcement.
• Provide daily parent communication through the company’s Parent Communication app and other channels.
• Collaborate with parents to support child learning at home and at school.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate to share ideas and best practices.
