Job summary

Yellow Brick Road in Minnesota is seeking a Lead Educator to provide a nurturing, positive, and innovative learning environment where young children thrive. You’ll plan developmentally appropriate lesson plans, foster belonging, and support families through clear communication.

You will observe progress, document development, manage classroom behavior with positive strategies, and participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS qualifications for a Lead Educator in a licensed child care center.
• Experience with young children in licensed early childhood education setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving children and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly play-based lesson plans reflecting values, philosophy, and standards.
• Observe and assess child progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.
• Establish and maintain a positive, respectful classroom culture and manage behavior.
• Provide daily parent communication via the Parent Communication app and collaborate with families.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and share ideas with colleagues.
