Job summary

Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center in Minnesota is seeking a Lead Educator to provide a nurturing, positive, and innovative learning environment where young children can thrive. You will plan curriculum, observe development, manage a respectful classroom, and communicate with families.

The role requires DHS qualifications for a Lead Educator, experience with licensed early childhood settings, strong communication and teamwork, the ability to perform physically demanding tasks,

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS qualifications for a Lead Educator in a licensed child care center.
• Demonstrated experience working with young children in a licensed early childhood education setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must be able to make the commute to the assigned school.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Must be able and willing to perform physically demanding work, such as lifting up to 65lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities reflecting core values and standards.
• Create a positive classroom culture that fosters belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Observe and assess child development and tailor instruction to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of child progress and development.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture and manage behavior with positive reinforcement.
• Provide daily parent communication about child's progress and development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices.
