The role requires meeting Minnesota DHS Lead Teacher qualifications, strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to lift and move materials as needed.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) qualifications for a Lead Teacher in a licensed child care center.
• Demonstrated experience working with young children in a licensed early childhood education setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting and moving children and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly, play-based lesson plans reflecting core values and state standards.
• Create a positive classroom culture that fosters belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Observe and assess child development; tailor instruction to individual needs.
• Establish and maintain a respectful, supportive classroom environment; manage behavior with positive guidance.
• Provide daily communication with families through the Parent Communication app; collaborate with parents for home learning.
