Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Eagan, Minnesota, is seeking a #2 Operator in Prepress for our Core Print Solutions team. You will provide leadership, direction, and training to crew members to optimize overall performance.

The role operates on the 3rd shift (10:30 PM–6:30 AM) with occasional overtime and weekend shifts. A background in lean practices, safety, and effective cross‑shift communication is essential for success in this mid‑level position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and production orders.
• Experience with Lean and continuous improvement.
• Good communication skills, including experience sharing information across shifts and departments.
• Proven success as a trainer.
• Competence with rulers and measurement tools.
• Able to regularly lift at least 5 lbs. above the shoulder, and occasionally push, pull, and lift at least 10 lbs. up to 50 lbs.
• Able to regularly stand, walk, crouch, bend, reach, and kneel.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test, as applicable for the role.

Responsibilities

• Review job specifications for material and set-up requirements
• Perform or delegate set-up tasks
• Monitor equipment and product throughout the job run to ensure high quality
• Perform moderately complex troubleshooting related to product or equipment
• Communicate effectively during the shift and at shift hand-off
• Evaluate the mechanical condition of equipment, complete preventive maintenance, and involve Maintenance as needed
• Use computer-based workflow applications to manage files
• Work independently, since results are not typically checked by others
• Provide leadership, work direction, and training to crew members to consistently optimize overall performance
