Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s Racing division seeks a Powertrain Engineer with deep driveline expertise to deliver high-performance system concepts through production. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage external resources, and interface with manufacturing to ensure cost, weight and timing targets are met.

You will oversee program plans, guide prototypes, and resolve technical issues while aligning with GPDS deliverables across multiple salary grades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience developing driveline systems in high-performance applications.
• Deep knowledge of current and future automotive powertrain systems.
• Significant plant-manufacturing interface experience resolving manufacturing/quality issues.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects from concept through launch and production.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual layout and delivery of a new driveline system.
• Manage program delivery of quality, cost, weight, function and timing from concept through to production.
• Coordinate and manage outside engineering and design resources.
• Interface with core technical specialists to ensure delivery of a quality system design.
• Function as primary technical interface with manufacturing engineering to ensure fit with process and commercial needs.
• Technical management of interface complexities with neighboring systems.
• Support vehicle program/platform teams to address functional vehicle performance attributes.
• Technical leadership for problem resolution.
• Technical leadership for prototype builds.
