Job summary

Ford Racing is seeking a driven engineer to build powertrain plant models and simulation tools that support decision-making for racing and production programs. You will size and select powertrain hardware, develop plant models for calibration development, and enable driver-in-the-loop and dyno testing with high-fidelity simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience developing dynamic system models for simulation and control design.
• 2 years' experience in design, development, and validation of real-time control systems.
• Understanding of automotive powertrain systems and controls, with knowledge of dynamics, hydraulics, electric machines, batteries, and mechatronic actuators.
• 2 years of experience using Matlab/Simulink for modeling, simulation, data analysis, and embedded control software.

Responsibilities

• Develop powertrain plant models and CAE tools to analyze performance and interactions across Ford Racing programs.
• Integrate plant models with multidisciplinary models to create cohesive simulation environments across vehicle and controls domains.
• Design and perform concept vehicle simulations to derive hardware and system requirements for programs.
• Plan and perform hardware testing and develop data processing tools to calibrate models against test data.
