Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Pre-Program Strategy and Implementation Engineer in Michigan for Powertrain development. You will lead from concept to release, balancing quality, cost, weight, and timing while coordinating with manufacturing, supply chain, and product development teams.

The role emphasizes early decisioning on make/buy content, BEV/hybrid programs, and cost-target alignment. Hybrid work with four+ onsite days per week is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of transmission or power unit development experience.
• Masters in product development or related engineering degree is a plus.
• Formal Systems Engineering knowledge to solve complex problems.
• Versed in BOM structure development.

Responsibilities

• Launch new powertrain architectures through the unit approval process.
• Develop strategies to balance complexity and content.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain, and development.
• Identify and implement process improvements for quality and speed.
• Coordinate cost targets with program goals and supplier teams.
