Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design and development of large power transformers in Montgomery, AL. You will drive designs from concept to production and serve as the technical lead in customer meetings and reviews.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of transformer engineering experience, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to collaborate with utilities, EPC firms, consultants, and cross-functional teams. A PE license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 10+ years of hands-on experience designing large power transformers.
• Extensive knowledge of transformer electrical design, electromagnetic principles, insulation systems, thermal performance, and short-circuit analysis.
• Experience with U.S. electric utilities, engineering consultants, and EPC firms on technical design discussions.
• Familiarity with IEEE C57, ANSI, IEC transformer design standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the electrical design of large power transformers from concept through production.
• Perform detailed engineering analyses including impedance calculations, losses, thermal and insulation coordination.
• Optimize transformer performance using design software and simulations.
• Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Lead technical discussions with utilities, consultants, and EPC organizations.
• Support FAT, commissioning, and field technical inquiries.
