Job summary

Comal Independent School District is seeking a General Foreman for the Plumbing Shop to lead installation, repair, and maintenance of district plumbing and irrigation systems. You will supervise staff, plan maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety standards across CISD facilities.

The role requires extensive plumbing experience, a Texas Journeyman license (master's preferred), backflow certification preferred, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Journeyman Plumbers License; master’s license preferred.
• May need to register Master’s License with local municipality as Master of Record for Comal ISD.
• Backflow Testers Certification preferred.
• Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain plumbing infrastructure and irrigation systems for the district.
• Supervise and provide managerial expertise to ensure proper installation, servicing, and maintenance.
• Develop and oversee maintenance inspection programs and service schedules.
• Prepare budget forecasts for plumbing programs and request funds as needed.
• Ensure compliance with CISD criteria, local codes, safety and industry standards.
• Oversee excavation, installation of irrigation lines and backflow valves; supervise staff.

Education

High School Diploma / GED

Journeyman Plumbers License (Texas)

Master's License preferred

Backflow Testers Certification preferred

Valid Texas Driver's License
